Environmental volunteering on Linnansaari

In Linnansaari, traditional landscapes are maintained by mowing. Mowing encourages an abundance of flowers. With the removal of plant matter, the meadow becomes poorer and there is enough light and space for even the most delicate flowers. Meadows are also important habitats for many insects. Flowering meadow plants provide food and shelter for many species, including vital pollinating insects.
Come join us to do good for biodiversity!
Program:
at 9.30 Boat transport from Oravi to Linnansaari island
at 10 am The work begins, we mow the meadow areas of Sammakkoniemi.
at 1 pm Lunch break, lunch available at the Sammakkoniemi soup kitchen
at 2 pm the work continues
at 4-6 pm sauna (women's turn 4-5pm and men's turn 5-6pm)
at 6 pm Boat transport from Linnansaari to Oravi
Transport to Linnansaari, lunch and sauna is free for the volunteers.
Bring your own work clothes, rubber boots or other good work shoes, water bottle, towel and swimsuit.
The organizer provides the necessary tools.
Register in advance at the latest 15.8. by 5 pm to the sales office in Oravi.
