The ice route is closed today, there is lots of water on ice in some parts of the route. When it starts to freeze again and the water on ice frozes, the route is possible to open. At the moment it seems that there should be good ice in the weekend. We will inform of possible changes.

It has snowed quite heavily during the night, the routemaster is ploughing route between Oravi and Linnansaari clean. The condition of the ice hasn't changed much during, there is still some uneven parts along the way. Stay on the marked route.
EDIT 12.25 The route has been ploughed to Savonselkä. It has snowed so much that it takes more time than expected to plough the route completely to Linnansaari.

The ice trail from Oravi to Linnansaari is open. There is a thin layer of snow on the route (couple centimeters). Because of equipment problems the route should be ploughed to be ready in the early afternoon. We still recommend the kick sledge, because of the uneven spots on the ice.

The route Oravi-Linnansaari-Peonselkä is ploughed today and should be ready by 12 o'clock. Total distance circa 9km. The ice is still a bit uneven so the kick sledge is the best equipment to use today.

Today -25 degrees and next night predicted -30 degrees. Now the ice is getting thicker for sure. After the weekend the weather is getting a bit warmer and then we start making the ice route.
