Paddling trip in Lake Saimaa - from Oravi to Kolovesi

With this selfguided paddling excursion you can explore the wilderness of the beutiful Lake Saimaa. Excursion starts from Oravi village where you collect all the paddling gear, map and route instructions.
The paddling route goes trough the archipelago of Joutenvesi and the rugged National Park of Kolovesi. All this way the lake is clean, full of fish and if you are lucky you may spot one of the seals living in the area. More information about the Oravi - Kolovesi paddling route you can find from here.
1st -(2nd) night: at Joutenvesi on one of the islands. Camping with everyman's law so open fire is not allowed. Use camping cooker for cooking.
(2nd)-3rd night: at Kolovesi on one of the marked camp sites (in national park area camping is allowed only on marked camp sites). Use camping cooker or fire places provided on the camp sites.
Return to Oravi by car. Pick up from Kirkkoranta at 1pm on the 4th day in Kolovesi National Park.
Start from Oravi. Paddling route is minimum of 40km.
Price includes: canadian canoe for 2 persons, life jackets, barrels (2 pcs), waterproof paddling map, route planning and a pick up from Kolovesi.

Extra person: 50€ (paddling with triple canoe)
Camping equipment can be rented from Oravi equipment rental office (tent, sleeping bags and matresses, Trangia camping cooker, cutlery, fishing equipment, fishing licenses).

Kayak Adventure in Lake Saimaa - from Kolovesi to Oravi

During this selfguided paddling trip you will experience the wilderness of the beautiful Lake Saimaa. This trip allows you to explore both inner and outer nature as body and spirit are refreshed.
Kolovesi is the perfect place to experience true silence since no motor boats are allowed in the park. Inhale fresh air and enjoy the clean, drinkable lake water. At Ukonvuori hill in the middle of the park you can feel ancient vibes from the people that lived, hunted and fished in Kolovesi thousands of years ago. The rock painting reveals, that this place was important also for the Stone Age people.
The excursion starts from Oravi village where you collect the paddling gear, maps and route instructions. We will transport you and the equipment by car to Kirkkoranta in Kolovesi National Park where you will start the trip. Car transport from Oravi starts at 11.30 and you are ready to start your paddling tour from Kolovesi at circa 12.30.

The paddling route is 40-50 km long.
1st day meeting at the Oravi canoe center latest at 11.00. Car transport starts at 11.30 and the tour can start at circa 12.30.

3rd day you will arrive to Oravi, where you can enjoy a relaxing sauna bath in the harbour sauna and a nourishing wild food meal in restaurant Ruukinranta.
The price includes: kayak for 2 persons, life jackets, dry bags (2 pcs), waterproof paddling map, route planning, transport to Kolovesi and lakeside sauna in Oravi after the trip.
